The Answers to all your Electronic Cigarette Questions
The main question is; can I use the electronic cigarette anywhere? The short answer is "Yes". The vapour produced by the SmartSmoke consists of propylene glycol (dry ice). This vapour dissipates almost immediately and does not smell. There is no passive smoking issue for non-smokers and the vapour does not linger on clothing, hair, or fixtures and fittings which is why the SmartSmoke has been accepted in bars, restaurants, workplaces and even onboard airplanes.
From experience, it is always better to approach the bar manager, restaurant owner, etc before using the SmartSmoke and showing them that it is not the real thing.
There are many bars and pubs across the USA & Canada that have embraced the electronic cigarette and have welcomed the returning "smokers" to their premises. The bar / pub trade has suffered terribly since the smoking ban was enforced and the SmartSmoke offers the bar owner a real opportunity to get some of that business back.
Many offices and workplaces are also welcoming the SmartSmoke. Many articles claim that productivity is up and absenteeism lessened by employers allowing their staff to use SmartSmoke electronic cigarettes at work.
The real winner, of course, is the smoker. The electronic cigarette is a much smarter, cheaper option than traditional smoking and finally gives the smoker a viable alternative to the real thing. Many are using the device wherever cigarettes is banned, while others are cutting down or using the SmartSmoke as a smarter alternative. Being able to smoke indoors in the bitterly cold weather is a massive advantage and negates the need for the quick rushed cigarette smoked, but not really enjoyed, outside. In the next couple of years, this invention will become much more prevalent and recognisable and those that embrace the invention as a good thing will surely benefit.

1. Are Electronic Cigarettes approved by the FDA?
Electronic cigarettes do not fall under the jurisdiction of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) nor the TTB (The Alcohol and Tobacco Trade Bureau) as they do not contain tobacco.
Can the Electronic Cigarette really replace my cigarette in terms of taste and smell?
The Electronic Cigarette is available in several cartridge flavors. Our Regular, Robust and Menthol flavors are very popular with smokers. Also, with the Electronic Cigarette, you may smoke indoors or in the presence of others since there is no offensive odor. You may even use it on an Airplane. With traditional smoking being socially unacceptable these days, you'll still want to show consideration when using your electronic cigarette.
2. Can I save money by switching to electronic "smoking"?
Absolutely. You can eliminate the weekly expense of purchasing cigarettes. Electronic Cigarette cartridges and cartomizers cost about half of what regular cigarettes cost.
3. How long will a cartridge or cartomizer last?
That depends solely on your usage patterns. Some users will go through 1 cartridge or less a day, while others will go through 2 or even 3 a day. One cartridge is roughly equivalent to a half pack of traditional tobacco cigarettes. One cartomizer is roughly equivalent to one and a half packs of cigarettes.
4. When do I replace my e-cigarette cartridge?
When you begin to notice less amounts of vapor when you "puff" your e-cigarette, this is a good indication the cartridge or cartomizer is running low and will need to be replaced.
5. What is a Cartomizer?
A new electronic cigarette technology has come into play that is making our SmartSmoke electronic cigarette stand out from other brands. We are now offering cartridges that have the atomizer built in. They are called "cartomizers". This means you don't have to continuously keep replacing the atomizer after it wears out over time. (Which is known to happen!) So with every new cartomizer you have a brand new atomizer! This means you will be getting the highest vapor concentration of any electronic cigarette on the market and you will be protecting yourself from having to spend more money on replacing atomizers. More smoke and a better throat hit. This is the newest technology to hit the electronic cigarette market and we are proud to offer it.
6. How often do I need to recharge the battery, and how long does it take to do?
SmartSmoke manufacturers use only high quality, high-tech lithium-ion batteries. These batteries typically last approximately around 200-300 puffs with normal use before they need to be charged. The frequency of charging your battery will depend on how often you inhale. Typically it takes about 3 to 4 hours to fully charge the battery.
7. What is propylene glycol and is it safe?
Propylene glycol is an organic compound that is both colorless and odorless. It has been rated as GRAS (generally recognized as safe) by the FDA for use in food, cosmetics, and medicines. It is absorbed and metabolized by your body therefore, does not stick to your lungs like tar.
8. Will my breath smell the same as when I use cigarettes?
One of the beauties of electronic cigarettes is that your breath will not smell of tobacco. Your hands, clothing, car, home will not have that foul odor that is typically associated with tobacco.
How do the ingredients in a Electronic Cigarette compare to a traditional tobacco cigarette?
The Electronic Cigarette contains: water, propylene glycol, a scent to emulate flavor and a membrane to contain all the ingredients. Nicotine is an option where legally available. Health Canada currently does not allow the sale of nicotine for electronic cigarettes in Canada. The complete list of chemicals added to your traditional cigarettes is too long to list here. To name a few: Ammonia, Arsenic, Benzene, Butane, Carbon monoxide, Cadmium, Cyanide DDT, Lead, Formaldehiyde...the list goes on! Further, there are more than 4,000 chemicals generally found in tobacco smoke. Many of these are known to cause cancer.
9. Do I need to turn my Electronic Cigarette off when not in use?
No, the SmartSmoke is automatic and the battery is used ONLY when you inhale.
10. Is it legal to smoke anywhere I want?
Yes. Because the Electronic Cigarette does not generate any smoke whatsoever, nor flame, it is safe and legal to use everywhere. It is not subject to fire codes, smoking by-laws or smoking prohibitions of any kind. You can even smoke this amzaing device on an airplane if you choose. Please be considerate of those around you!
11. Is the Electronic Cigarette guaranteed?
Yes. SmartSmoke offers its customers a one year warranty against manufacturers defects. We stand behind our product. Shop with confidence!
12. Are your electronic cigarettes designed to help me quit smoking?
Our e-cigarettes are simply a smarter alternative to smoking cigarettes. They have not been tested as a smoking cessation device and should only be viewed as simply an alternative to smoking tobacco. They should not be used by non-smokers. |
